Easycap Usb 2.0 Video Adapter With Audio Driver Download

I needed to transfer some old VHS video to digital, so I purchased the EasyCap USB video capture unit and a VCR from Goodwill to accomplish the task. Like many other reviewers, I had my share of problems getting it to work, but after reading some other reviews I got past my problems and was able to transfer the video. I am sure there are better products out there, but considering this was pretty much a 'one-time' thing, I didn't want to spend a lot on it. If you need to transfer just a couple of old videos to digital and don't plan to use it a lot, then this will probably do the job for you. If you plan on converting videos on an ongoing basis, you may want to spend a little more for a unit that is easier to use. Then again, if you can get it to work, and use it often, it would probably become second nature to set it up for each transfer. I think that was one of the glitches with this unit, you couldn't save the configuration and had to 'rethink it' each time.

Practice makes perfect? USB extension cable included only runs power.

It will not function for data for the EasyCap DC60. The software works just fine and was not needed for function of the device through third party software as the driver can be downloaded online ONLY from third party suppliers. The image quality is just as good as whatever you're funneling through the device. Using third party monitoring software I noticed that although the whole image is displayed, there are frozen green scan lines on the bottom of the image. This malfunction does not occur in the software provided. The package was not sealed and I believe this is a imitation (like most small electronics on Amazon).

Don't expect 1080 to show brilliant with a composite connection. I ordered two and I kind of regret it, but we'll see how long they actually last. The price has dropped by $2 since I've ordered it. A good little item for capturing your RCA and S-Video reliant consoles.

I use it for my Dreamcast and Ps2, and it works pretty well. I have 2 complaints that could break the deal for some buyers though: 1. There is a constant, high pitched noise on the audio and unless you change the volumes levels it can get REALLY annoying. Sometimes there is interference on the video picture that creates lines and articles across the screen.

It's not really an issue, but it needs mentioning. RCA only, as far as I know, because I haven't used the S-Video connector. The software that is recommended with it is complete and total trash. I recommend finding an alternative, as I did. I needed a way to transfer some of my VHS tapes to my computer, this was the best and least expensive way to do it myself. As long as your computer meets all the system requirements all you have to do is load the included software, connect your Easycap from your VCR and plug into your USB port.

It is a live recording so you do have to play through the whole footage of what you want to capture, but that is to be expected when going from analog to digital format. You can leave the room and mute it if you don't want to watch the whole thing, just make sure you come back to turn it off when its done or you will capture a bunch of static or blue screen from your VCR after the tape has stopped playing. While I have only used it to capture VHS footage, I am positive this will also work with live TV and DVD footage if necessary. However you can expect some generation loss capturing digital footage with an analog method. If that makes sense.

Great device! Glad I bought it!

Technically this product works, but it appears that this is just one of many clones of essentially the same product. On my Linux computers it works fine, picture quality is decent, sound quality is decent although it does get distorted from time to time, I suspect maybe because of bandwidth issues with the device, because when I route sound through a separate cable the distortions disappear for the most part. The housing is pretty cheaply made too. I bumped it once and the whole thing popped apart and I had to put it back together. Also, having tried using this on two different computers to digitize some VHS movies I have, over the course of an hour and a half long movie the audio and video fall 2-3 seconds out of sync.

From what I can tell there's no software built into the device and it didn't come with any discs, so you've gotta basically figure out what software and stuff you want to use yourself. I'm giving this 3 stars because technically it does work, and the picture/sound quality is pretty good, but I will probably end up buying a dedicated capture card for our desktop PC and relegate this to a tinker toy. I am very disappointed with this product. This is NOT an EasyCap - it is an EasierCap.

The device is not what is pictured and it does not work. I have had it for several weeks and am STILL struggling to get it to work with the software. I should have taken the other reviewers advice and just paid a little more for one that i knew for certain was an actual EasyCap device. I would not recommend purchasing this unless you want to have fun fighting with it to make it work. This is false advertising and this seller should be embarrassed that they ship a knock off product!

If anyone has any tips for me, they would be greatly appreciated. First off, if you're wondering how long it will take to get this to your door.12 days to KC metro area.

This is a functional product. The CD came with only Windows 7 and Vista drivers, but XP32 was more than happy to install them and function so that's a plus. Capture seems fast enough (although I did sacrifice a precious USB 3.0 plug for it) and I don't have any problem with the audio as others have described. Using this with a Gamecube, it's functional. Now, the not so good. Video quality blows and you only get 720x480 (30fps) with a crap ton of overscan.

Probably 1/4th of the bottom of the capture is just junk. Maybe if you're interested enough to find other/better drivers, it will work with them. This is not what you want for recording or making videos. With the output I'm getting, this is strictly for playing games with MPC or other simple capture software.

Oh, and the stupid USB extension cord included seems to be DOA only providing power. Luckily, I had room to plug this chunky fellow directly into the motherboard port.

I'm not interested in finding out how bad this performs on a USB 2.0 plug or, even worse, a USB 2.0 hub.edit. For the sake of sport, I went ahead and attached this to an internal style USB 2.0 hub. It still works well enough, but I should hope so with such poor video quality. It's really embarrassing how bad the S-video looks on this. I've got it coming straight from the Gamecube and it looks like coaxial. Also, the overscan is actually because it defaults to 720x576.

You can change the resolution to 720x480 to fix it. Still, there are no 60fps interlaced options, so forget about that. What you see is what you get. It does appear to be smart enough to scale the image to proper 4:3, but not smart enough to do it with any sense of quality. And for anyone wondering, this uses the utv007 (or usbtv007) chipset. So yes, it's a fake EZCap, not that anyone should be surprised. I mean, this is a really good price for what you get, but it's not even ATI VIVO.

EXCELLENT DEAL! This unit can turn up costing a LOT MORE for the self same thing.I paid. The EASYCAP itself works fantastically.

Easycap Usb 2.0 Software

Throw the rest of the package out. Throw the disc out, it is useless, throw the USB extender out, its absolutely the flimsiest USB cord, and straight up did not work. The device itself however is fantastic, but you need to go get the drivers online yourself for it.

My computer has the wrong type of CD drive to even attempt to use this disc, so I didn't. This device IS a knock off, but it works.

You have to find the drivers for the original device, made by Sabrent. (I am unclear about amazon policies regarding linking off site, so I will simply say, google Sabrent, look up the drivers on their site for the USB 2.0 VIDEO & AUDIO CAPTURE DVD MAKER It may also prove useful to google the instructions for how to install everything. I found the Ulead software also useless, You can accomplish better results using Xsplit. Basic instructions are as follows. Plug in the device, and when prompted install it. Download the drivers, and install them.

Get Xsplit, and from the camera displays, with the device plugged in, Select OEM device. There will be an odd statc underneath the input, but you can use xsplit to easily crop that out of the main video even before recording. Otherwise, if you have properly connected the AV wires and/or s-video wire, it should come through great, with about a quarter to a half second of lag. One note is that oddly the audio will be distorted or absent, unless something is plugged into either or both audio ports, even if the s-video wire is connected. I got around this easily, but for some people it may not be as easy without the same types of wires I have. If the lag is a problem, then it is still possible to wire the device to both a TV and a computer at the same time, you just need to send the S-video one way, and AV wires the other, which, again, I had the wires to make such a task possible, others may not. 3 stars, because the device itself works great, but everything else (the disc more suited for a nintendo gamecube than a pc, the video editing and recording software, the USB extender, the broken english instruction manual) did not.

The broken english instruction manual did serve as entertainment for my friends and I, so I suppose that's a bonus. On the plus side, the software installed and the adapter worked perfectly on my Dell D630 laptop running Win 7 with no hiccups whatsoever. Quite a contrast to a more expensive Ion adapter I had purchased previously - and returned because it refused to be installed, and of course did not work. But again, this adapter did not have those problems, even though it cost significantly less. But the resulting videos seem to be of fairly crude quality, no where close to HD. On the other hand, I've noticed that there are quite a few instructional videos on Youtube for fine tuning the sorftware, so I'll probably see if I can tweak the quality a bit with those suggestions. Also, even though the photos show the brand as 'EasyCap', mine was branded 'EasierCAP'.

Not quite sure what to make of that, beyond being mildly funny.
